BOOKMOBILES with STORIES-IN-A-BAG

SAND CASTLE LIBRARY

SCIENCE FRIDAY!

BOOKMOBILES TO SCHOOLS

LENDING LIBRARY

PIER operates two Bookmobiles that visit all 31 Roatan public primary schools every three weeks. From February to September 2017 our Librarians loaned 18,257  books to 2,191 students, for a total  of 18,262 student visits through the bookmobiles.

STORY-IN-A-BAG

These kits include hands-on activities in reading, math, and science.  In addition to teaching children, we modeled creative teaching strategies for classroom teachers.  Our Reading Specialists made 2,365 Story-in-a-Bag presentations in 241 grades 1- 6 classrooms.

RESULTS:  96% of teachers evaluated the program as "very helpful".

Your donations keep the bookmobiles on the road and the library open.

We can't do it without you!
